Marketing that does not stall in review.
FRACTIONAL CMO FOR INDEPENDENT WEALTH ADVISORS
Revisions are part of this. Starting over is not. I build websites, content programs and event campaigns designed to move through your review cycle without losing the launch date, inside the platforms you already pay for.
You already know what the problem is.
You are the product. Your expertise is the reason clients stay, and almost none of it is visible anywhere a prospective client would look.
You have a website that could belong to any advisor in the country. You have a compliance process that makes publishing feel expensive. You have a marketing platform included in your affiliation that you log into twice a year. And you have a referral engine that works, right up until it plateaus.
None of that is a content problem. It is an operating problem, and it is fixable.
Compliance-fluent, not compliance-blind.
I build to your review process rather than around it, and the review cycle goes into the timeline from the start instead of getting discovered at the end. Material still comes back with comments, because it always does. What changes is that the comments are adjustments rather than a rebuild, and the date holds. I do not approve your marketing. Your home office does. But nothing I hand you should be a surprise to them.
Three things that make this different.
Built inside the stack you already have.
I work fluently in Marketing Central and FMG. If you are a Cetera advisor, you are already paying for a capable platform and almost certainly using a fraction of it. The fastest growth available to most advisors is not new software. It is the software already sitting in the affiliation.
Your asset, not an agency rental.
I build the site, the editorial engine and the event playbook, then leave you with something your team can run. Twenty-five years of building marketing functions inside large companies taught me that the handoff is the whole job.
Working Together
I bill hourly against a monthly minimum rather than a flat project fee. Your review and approval process sets the pace of this work, and I would rather not price as though I control it. You pay for hours worked, and nothing is published without your review and approval.
How we work together.
Digital Presence Assessment
The diagnostic. I review your website, social presence and broader digital footprint with Cetera’s marketing team, then turn the findings into a practical plan to sharpen what exists and build what is missing. The outcome is a clearer online presence and a path we can actually execute.
Monthly Content Buildout
For firms that have the foundation and need the engine to keep turning. Blog production, social presence, email nurture and a quarterly review against what actually came in. This is where MarketingCentral stops being a login you forget and starts being a channel.
Event Campaigns
The webinar, seminar or client luncheon, run as a campaign instead of an invitation. Topic and keynote positioning, the full email sequence, registration tracking, day-of materials, and the post-event content program built from the recording. One event becomes months of assets.
Who you would be working with.
I'm Sara Melo-Pereira, founder of My CMO. I spent 25 years building marketing functions inside large B2B companies, most recently as VP of Customer Marketing and Events at iCIMS and before that in senior marketing leadership at ADP. Programs I built have influenced more than $100M in retention, expansion and advocacy-led revenue.
The disciplines that move enterprise revenue turn out to be the same ones that grow an advisory practice. Know exactly who your best clients are. Build the programs and events that deepen those relationships. Measure what happens, and stop doing the parts that do not work.
The difference in this market is the constraint. In enterprise marketing you can publish in a timely manner. Here you cannot, and any partner who does not build around that will cost you more time than they save you.
What this approach has produced.
Two independent wealth advisory firms, both currently under engagement. Firm names available on request.
Social presence built from zero
Both firms also received a full website rebuild organized around advisor expertise and service offerings, plus an ongoing blog series.
Social presence built from zero
- An independent advisory firm had no meaningful social footprint. I built and now run the program. Within one month, engagement was up 529%, views were up 259%, and followers grew 50%.
- 60% of all views came from people who do not follow the page, which is the number that matters. The content is reaching prospective clients, not recirculating inside the existing book.
-
- A luncheon turned into a campaign
- A semi-annual client luncheon was being promoted with a single invitation email. I rebuilt it as a multi-touch campaign with keynote and topic positioning.
- The July event drew more than 100 attendees, with email open rates consistently above 45% against a financial services benchmark in the mid-20s. The recording became an ongoing content program.

Frequently asked questions
Do you handle compliance approval?
No, and be careful with anyone who says they do. I build marketing designed to move through your review process efficiently and I plan the review cycle into the project timeline, but your home office approves everything. That line matters. Your registration is the thing at risk, not mine.
Does everything get approved as submitted?
No, and I would not trust a vendor who told you otherwise. Revisions are a normal part of this work. What changes when you hire someone who already knows the process is the kind of revision you get. Material comes back with adjustments rather than fundamental problems, turnaround is fast because I do not need the comments translated for me, and approval lands in time for the date already on the calendar.
I already pay for MarketingCentral. Do I need you?
That is usually the argument for the engagement rather than against it. The platform is capable and most advisors use a small corner of it. A large share of what I do in the first ninety days is turning a paid subscription you barely open into a working channel.
Why hourly instead of a flat project fee?
A flat fee would mean pricing in the risk that review takes longer than expected, and you would pay for that whether it happened or not. Hourly means you pay for work performed. It also keeps me honest on scope, because you see exactly where the hours went every month. The monthly minimum exists so I can hold capacity for you, not to pad the invoice.
Let's look at what you have.
Book a 30-minute working session. We will go through your current presence, what your review process actually requires, and the two moves most likely to bring in right-fit clients this year. No slides, and no proposal unless you ask for one.
